Yorkshire Forward is the Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire & The Humber.
The international trade team at Yorkshire Forward is involved in the design and implementation of a Strategic Framework for International Trade in the region to encourage businesses to enter international markets. This is currently under review.
The team works closely with UK Trade and Investment to increase the number and value of exports from the region, through a number of initiatives including funded schemes, networking opportunities and access to trade partnerships.
China Specific Services
In 2004, Yorkshire Forward set up an office in Hangzhou to identify Chinese companies with the potential to set up an operation in the UK. Subsequently, the China Product Centre has been established in Hull, which currently houses 15 Chinese manufacturing companies.
The China Incubator at York Science Park has also been launched and is part of the on-going support that Yorkshire Forward is providing for Chinese businesses coming into the region.
